About
I\'m a board-certified psychiatrist, personal and executive coach, author, speaker, and facilitator. My medical practice serves adults dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress-related health conditions. Through coaching, I help physicians transform the stresses of Medicine into wholehearted living, working and leading. This enhances their individual and family lives, their medical teams, and their organizations. With over 30 years\' experience as a psychiatrist in multiple environments, I\'ve helped hundreds of medical students, residents, and practicing physicians find their way back to well-being on all levels. I\'ve also developed mental health and peer counseling services for medical students and residents — and have over 1000 hours\' experience coaching physicians since 2013. I am fellowship-trained in both Integrative Medicine and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry – and along with being a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator with Dr. Brené Brown, I have also trained in her Dare to Lead curriculum. My coach training has come through Center for Executive Coaching, College of Executive Coaching, and Duke Center for Integrative Medicine\'s Integrative Health Coaching Program. Additionally, I\'m a certified physician burnout coach through Dike Drummond MD (CEO of TheHappyMD.com), and a Certified Change Coach with Amy Johnson PhD. Courage, clarity, and compassion are values I live and lead by personally; my work with physicians and others embodies these every day. No matter how exhausted or broken my patients and clients may feel, there is always hope – because resources of health, peace, and wisdom are always present inside us. I’m convinced that burnout can be a transformation point from chaos and overwhelm, to peace of mind and sense of purpose. My mission is assisting my fellow humans make this real in their lives. From the creative wisdom and well-being inside us, we can each make and act on the healthiest choices possible – becoming healthier, happier
