Catherine is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) with the International Association of Yoga Therapists, a certified CranioSacral Therapist (CST) with the Upledger Institute, an Experience Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) with the National Yoga Alliance, and a licensed physical therapist (PT) having earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of Minnesota in 2010. Catherine works as a physical therapist privately through The Art of Yoga and Integrative Bodywork, LLC, but she also practices at Hennepin Healthcare’s Integrative Health Clinic in Minneapolis. Catherine is also the Associate Editor for the International Journal of Yoga Therapy, a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the understanding of the healing power of yoga and establishing yoga as a recognized therapeutic field. In her physical therapy practice, Catherine draws on her CranioSacral , myofascial, and visceral training from the Upledger Institute and the Barral Institute, posture and functional movement re-training, somatic movement patterns, therapeutic yoga, and trauma-informed practices. In her yoga teaching, Catherine has trained for over 20 years in several different traditions of yoga. She blends together elements from Vinyasa Flow and Hatha, to create a slow, mindful practice that is grounded in breath, intention, and loving-kindness. Catherine has conducted and published research on the therapeutic use of yoga for knee arthritis, lower back pain, and Parkinson’s Disease. Catherine\'s work with other movement disciplines and martial arts, as well as her work as an actor infuses her sessions and teaching with spontaneity and creativity, bringing a unique sense of joy and fun to every client or class.
