Lume Cannabis - Citrus Sap #1 - 1G Flower

Citrus Sap Strain

written by Samuel Popejoy

When it comes to good weed at reasonable prices, Lume Cannabis has become something of a monopoly in Michigan. Both operating a chain of dispensaries and producing a wide line of cannabis products, Lume offers high-THC flower in a variety of popular strains.

We’ve tried quite a few different Lume strains to give you a full idea of what this brand has to offer. Overall, Lume isn’t weed you’ll want to write home about, but it also isn’t so bad it’s offensive. Learn what we thought about Citrus Sap, one of the first grams of bud we smoked from Michigan’s Lume.

Highlights

This was a decent gram for $8. The packaging might have been excessive for just a gram, but we appreciated the fact that it was nitrogen-sealed to preserve freshness. The entirety of the packaging for our gram of Lume Citrus Sap was recyclable, which we also appreciated.

Unfortunately, our particular gram of Citrus Sap consisted almost entirely of one gigantic stem. The buds had been trimmed so closely that much of the sugar leaf was missing. The texture of our Lume Citrus Sap nugs was so dry that they fell apart between our fingers, resulting in a sandy-textured mess.

  • Excellent labeling
  • Cultivar-specific strain information
  • Nitrogen-sealed container
  • Overly large container for just a gram
  • 16.25% THC / 0.02% CBD
  • Overzealous trim job
  • Stemmy, small buds
  • Very dry weed
  • Not very tasty

Price

There’s not much to complain about in paying $8 for a gram. What might Lume be skipping, though, to make their weed so dirt-cheap?

Activation & Duration

While the effects of this weed were weak overall, we didn’t have any complaints about how long it took to kick in. The immediate effects of our Lume Citrus Sap only lasted around 25 minutes, and they were completely gone by the 45-minute mark.

  • Activation time: Within 5 minutes
  • Effects lasted for: 25-45 minutes

Convenience

This is a reasonably convenient gram of weed to pick up if you want to get high in Michigan. Just don’t expect to be blown away by the flavor or effects.

Flavor & Aroma

The Lume website indicates that Citrus Sap is a myrcene-dominant strain, which we could faintly tell from the taste of these buds. In terms of aroma, though, our Citrus Sap buds were pretty underwhelming. We didn’t notice much dankness until we started grinding up our nugs. Even when smoked, our Lume Citrus Sap weed tasted mostly just like earth or hay.

Best Dosage

If you roll up a fat doobie of Lume Citrus Sap, chances are these extra-dry buds will canoe on you, wasting your THC. We’d recommend smoking Citrus Sap in a pipe or bong instead, and consider finishing the whole gram off at once just to be done with it.

Citrus Strain Review – Target Audience + FAQs

Grams of weed like Lume’s Citrus Sap are great for new users who just want to get high and don’t know much about cannabis. It’s great to be able to find a gram of bud for $8 in Michigan, but you get what you pay for.

1. Is Citrus Sap indica or sativa?

Citrus Sap is a sativa-dominant cross of Gorilla Glue #4 and Tangie. Due to its Gorilla Glue heritage, Citrus Sap leans slightly toward the indica side of the spectrum, but most users report this strain delivers strongly sativa-heavy effects.

2. What is Citrus Sap strain good for?

Users report that Citrus Sap is great for enjoying a burst of energy while still staying calm and collected. Try smoking a joint of Citrus Sap the next time you strive to meet your physical fitness goals outdoors.

3. Is Lume weed good?

THC flower from Lume Cannabis isn’t that great, but it only costs $8 a gram. Widely available throughout Michigan, Lume is a solid pick when you’re willing to relax your standards a little bit to get high economically.

Citrus Sap Strain Product Information

Together, the Best Dosage team has decades of experience smoking cannabis flower. Back from the days when “Legalize It” still seemed a distant pipe dream, we’ve looked on with delight as weed prohibition has gone up in smoke. Nowadays, we’ve sampled legal THC and CBD flower in California, Washington, Illinois, Oregon, and beyond, and we pay close attention to the feedback we receive from average shoppers at dispensaries and online reviewers alike. Cannabis flower is like a second language to us at BestDosage — to the point we can now tell good weed from bad at a glance. Our team has the experience to know whether that dank is worthy of its top-shelf position or if it's just weedy grass in disguise.
