About

Shelby’s education and clinical work have focused on a unique blend of Chinese, Ayurvedic, and Eclectic (Western) herbal traditions emphasizing evidence-based plant therapy. Shelby began her herbal education with the founders of the American Herbalist’s Guild, Michael Tierra OMD, RH and Leslie Tierra L.AC, RH, completed a three year clinical apprenticeship under Susan Kramer Ph.D, RH and has over 2,000 hours of combined instruction and apprenticeship.  Shelby maintains a private clinical practice and full apothecary of over 500 herbs at The Village Integrative Health Center in Sacramento, CA where she serves both local and remote communities as a clinical herbalist. Shelby operates a general practice with both children and adults with chronic or acute conditions including energy, sleep, migraines and other pain disorders, menstrual health, fertility, digestion, mental health, skin disorders, and complimentary care.
