Seriously, what’s up with that flavor? Like pretty much all cannabis vape pens, the Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g activated quickly, and it was convenient to use. I honestly like Ionic’s unusual somewhat rubberized cartridge tip.
The aesthetics of my Double Dream cartridge were so on-point, in fact, that I was almost shocked when I hooked up my Ionic vape cart to a battery and took a pull. What was I vaping, used tires?
I tried the other Ionic cartridge just to be sure. There was no mistaking it — both pens from this brand tasted like total crap, and this was supposed to be Ionic’s (which focuses mainly on super-purified distillates) connoisseur distillate line.
It’s honestly too bad that I liked the effects of my Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g so much. Double Dream is a unique take on Blue Dream that throws Dream Star into the mix, and coming into trying my Ionic vape, I was really looking forward to seeing what this strain did for me.
The silver lining with the Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g was the price. At $32 for a gram of oil in an attractively packaged and designed cartridge, my Double Dream cartridge certainly wasn’t pricey. Though, at this point, I’d almost be willing to pay someone just as much to vape it for me.
I had some trouble getting my Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge out of its package. I could tell from the moment I saw this vape cartridge’s packaging that there was a 70-80% chance the cart it contained was low-quality.
I haven’t forgotten they said never to judge a book by its cover. A cannabis product’s packaging can, however, tell you a lot about the conscientiousness of the company that made the product and the quality of the product itself.
Ionic told me it doesn’t care about me as a customer by making its packaging hard to get into. I haven’t had this much trouble getting into packaging since opening cheap Chinese toys under the Christmas tree as a kid.
Aside from that, however, the process of getting the cartridge connected to my battery and puffing was easy enough.
You’d have to have Stockholm Syndrome pretty bad to call the flavor of the Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g good. I felt like I had to wash my lungs out every time I took a pull.
Full disclosure — I’m the type of guy who pretty much only likes high-purity live resin vapes or dabs. There’s nothing about super-high THC concentrations that gets me going, but if I can’t puff on a cart regularly and like the experience, I’m not going to stick with it.
The Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g will sit in my stash in case of emergencies. Maybe I’ll gift it sometime soon. All I really know is that I’m never taking another puff from this awful-flavored cart again except in the deepest pits of desperation.
On the bright side, I felt the effects of my Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g almost immediately.
As I worked to get the nasty taste out of my mouth, I marveled at the effects of my Double Dream cartridge. This is a strain I’d definitely like to try again — from a different producer.
Blue Dream is one of my all-time favorite strains, and the effects of my Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g were very similar while making me feel more cerebral and euphoric than I usually do with Blue Dream.
It’s hard to beat $32 for a 1g vape cartridge in Washington’s market. Heck, some distillate half-gram pods sell for $50.
So, here’s the thing about Ionic. They’ve been in trouble before. For what, you might ask? Lying about putting illegal levels of pesticides in their cannabis vape cartridges.
“Ah,” you say. Then, you ask me, “Samuel, did you feel safe vaping this cartridge?”
My answer? No, I did not. But, I took one for the team and tried Ionic’s vapes anyway. I’m going to keep the amount of Ionic vapor that enters my lungs as minimal as possible, but I’m not at all convinced that John Gorst, Ionic’s CEO, has successfully navigated his company out of its checkered past.
After admitting in 2018 to allowing illegal levels of (extremely dangerous) pesticides in his products, Gorst then published a press release the following year saying it was all a defamatory lie. Before I vaped the Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g, I was skeptical about the whole situation but still suspended disbelief.
Any producer calling itself a crafter of “premium cannabis oils” that nonetheless makes cannabis concentrates with flavors as god-awful as the Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g seems more than a little iffy to me.
The Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g is targeted at casual or habitual cannabis users at the lower end of the spending bracket. As one of the most affordable vape lines in Washington, Ionic’s Black line is priced for puffing day-in and day-out.
I was only able to inhale a single puff of my Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge at a time. Any more than that would have seriously hurt my throat in addition to tasting terrible. If you decide to use this cart despite its taste, I’d suggest you limit yourself to a single small puff per session.
Have any more questions about the Ionic Double Dream Black Cartridge 1g?
No. Sorry to be so blunt, but they aren’t. The effects of the Black carts are good, but they taste so bad you wonder if you just vaped pure tar. Ionic’s cartridges look good, and they have great effects, but they’re such a pain to vape due to their flavor that the entire experience is fundamentally faulty.
Ionic’s disposable vape pens are easy to use. Just take your pen out of its packaging, and inhale. For Ionic disposable cartridges, simply attach the cartridge to your standard 510-threaded vape battery.
