I always find picking up products at Cannabis & Glass to be convenient. While this dispensary is slightly more expensive than nearby competitors, it’s located in a brand-new, attractive building, and I’ve never received poor service.
Pax pods are usually easy to get into. While I still wish I could control my Pax ERA battery directly from my iPhone like I used to, connecting to my iMac using Google Chrome’s inbuilt bluetooth connectivity isn’t as hard as it could be.
Overall, I see no reason to dock the Dabstract Banana Hammock Live Resin Pod any points on convenience.
So… I’d strongly suggest you don’t look up the phrase “banana hammock” in Google without the word “cannabis” attached.
I won’t tell you what a banana hammock is, but to men, it is unspeakable. Now, perhaps, the slightly funky flavor of my Dabstract Banana Hammock vape cartridge makes a little bit more sense.
Putting the strain’s name aside, I definitely didn’t dislike the flavor of my Banana Hammock vape cartridge. There’s something about Dabstract’s hydrocarbon extraction process, however, that makes this producers vapes taste slightly off.
A cross between Grape God and Mandarin Sunset, Banana Hammock has a somewhat confused fruity flavor that wasn’t as heavy and earthy as some indicas. This slightly lighter flavor matched the strain’s less-stoney effects.
In fact, I’d probably personally classify Banana Hammock as a hybrid, not a pure indica.
Like most vapes, the Dabstract Banana Hammock Live Resin Pod delivered effects that kicked in after around a minute. If you’d like to experience the effects of this strain faster or with enhanced potency, consider manually increasing the temperature of your Pax ERA battery or connecting it to an Android or desktop device via Bluetooth.
Back in the day, we used to have five cannabis cultivar categories — indica, indica-hybrid, hybrid, sativa-hybrid, and sativa. That convention has disappeared, but if I were making signs in a Washington medical dispensary circa 2010, I imagine I’d classify Banana Hammock “indica-hybrid.”
This strain didn’t make me feel particularly sleepy or zoned out. It actually engaged me to some degree and proved to be a reasonable strain to use while working.
I’d say the effects of my Dabstract Banana Hammock Live Resin Pod lasted the usual 90 minutes for vapes. I felt pleasantly stoned and insulated the entire time — there was no sativa buzz to be found, but also notably absent was the glue that sometimes sticks me to my couch when I puff indicas.
I don’t have much good to say about the price of my Dabstract Banana Hammock Live Resin Pod, so maybe it would be better if I kept my mouth shut.
All the same, $45 for half a gram of mediocre live resin seems like highway robbery. Some live resin is truly worth that — believe me, I’ve tasted it. Dabstract Banana Hammock simply isn’t at that level.
Save some money and buy the same strain in conventional cartridge form for almost half the price.
As usual with Pax pods, I have different instructions for different temperatures. At the manufacturer’s specified temperature, you might need to take 3-4 hits of your Dabstract Banana Hammock Live Resin Pod to enjoy a satisfying session.
Crank the temperature a little bit higher, and watch the number of hits you need to get high diminish. Enjoy Banana Hammock sessions every 1-2 hours for consistent effects throughout the day.
Dabstract is an artisan-oriented Seattle cannabis producer that goes out of its way to procure rare, delicious, and effective genetics. If only Dabstract put as much time and attention into its extraction processes, we might have a near-perfect cannabis brand on our hands.
The reality of the situation, though, is that Dabstract uses hydrocarbons to extract its cannabis concentrate. In the end, I could be imagining it, but I’ve always felt that hydrocarbon extracts don’t taste as good as other types of cannabis concentrate.
It especially seems a shame to pair live resin with hydrocarbon extraction. These minor quibbles aside, Dabstract is a fundamentally high-quality Washington cannabis producer that might do better to hold its own products in slightly lower regard.
Banana Hammock is a great strain for people who stay firmly on the indica side of the fence but occasionally wonder if the grass is greener. While this strain is still definitely an indica through and through, it’s a bit more peppy than certain couch-locking cousins.
Just be prepared to spend a bit more than usual if you go the Pax pod route. You might decide it’s worth it, but puffing on pods instead of carts is a lot more expensive.
Is there anything else I can answer about the Dabstract Banana Hammock Live Resin Pod?
You can find information about the concentrations of THCA and other cannabinoids Dabstract vape cartridges contain by viewing this producer’s lab reports. You can access the lab report for your particular cartridge batch by scanning the QR code on the back of your Dabstract Pax pod’s packaging.
Dabstract’s crystalline THCA and CBD extracts are favorably regarded within the Washington cannabis industry. Dabs are Dabstract’s main focus with vape carts taking a secondary role.
