Generally, we’d be happy to pay a little bit more for top-dollar bud. But, that’s only if the pricey cannabis in question actually delivers on the increased value suggested by its higher price tag. In the case of Caramel Apple, A Golden State failed to make its weed worth the money.
A Golden State Caramel Apple kicked in quickly, but its effects wore off almost immediately — if we even felt them at all. To make matters worse, this strain causes headaches, perhaps due to frustrated cannabinoid receptors that didn’t get to “drink their fill.”
One area in which A Golden State never fails to nail it is packaging. Artistic and beautiful, this brand also isn’t afraid to use glass, which preserves weed better.
This strain had little to no aroma or flavor. We could detect light notes of apple and pine, and there were some very light fruity tones on the first few hits. After that, though, Caramel Apple was practically flavorless. There was no aftertaste.
We rolled a 1-gram joint to test this strain. If you really want to make sure Caramel Apple is as ineffective as we say, try smoking even more at a time.
We wouldn’t recommend this eighth of A Golden State Caramel Apple flower to anyone. We’re not sure what went wrong here, but something about this supposedly hybrid strain just fails to get it done. You won’t feel high, so you won’t feel either indica or sativa effects. Some other Golden State strains are pretty fire, though.
The strain “Caramel Apple” is generally listed as a hybrid cultivar. This name can refer to a couple of different strains, though, and in our experience, A Golden State Caramel Apple didn’t provide either indica-leaning or sativa-leaning effects — it didn’t provide any effects at all.
Some strains produced by California cannabis grower A Golden State appear to be pretty good. This brand’s weed is undeniably beautiful and contains lots of THC, but appearances can be deceiving in the world of cannabis.
You can use the official A Golden State store locator to search for retail partners that might carry this grower’s Caramel Apple strain. Or, search for an eighth of Caramel Apple weed on a weed delivery site like Eaze or Amuse.
